Dick and Ben Carlisle appear on “Michigan Planning Today” / Dick is honored with other 2020 Class of Fellows of the American Institute of Certified Planners at the 2022 National Planning Conference
Michigan Planning Today Appearance
Carlisle | Wortman’s Dick and Ben Carlisle were invited to appear on an episode of Michigan Planning Today to discuss, amongst other related topics, CWA’s expertise with transforming suburban corridors. Dick and Ben discussed how urban development projects, when properly planned, assist the communities they represent to grow and develop for the future. They stressed the importance of productive dialogue to trace results back to the individual community’s vision.
The subject matter stemmed from CWA’s involvement in the Pittsfield Township’s project that transformed a “suburban, auto-focused corridor to a more mixed-use and pedestrian-friendly corridor.” The plan encouraged a “new kind of development” that moves away from driveable communities to walkable areas to live. They discussed how these mixed-use developments work well since they are in sync with the growing trend of living in close proximity to services and amenities.
Michigan Planning Today is produced and hosted by the Gibbs Planning Group.
Dick honored with other 2020 Fellows at NCP 2022
We were thrilled to announce back in April of 2020 that Dick Carlisle was chosen as a Fellow of the American Institute of Certified Planners - the highest honor the AICP provides. Fellows of AICP are nominated and selected by their peers to recognize and honor their outstanding contributions as a professional planner. Because of the complications and cancellations caused by the COVID pandemic, he received the honor in person at the 2022 National Planning Conference. We are so proud of our founder’s accomplishments and his service to the greater community for over 47 years. Congratulations Dick!
